The "IN-5" annual awards were launched in 2005 on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary since the foundation of BIA.

The name of these awards reflects the five basic poles of the economic prosperity - INdustry, INvestments, INnovations, INitiative and INtellect.

The categories are also five - for industrial development, for investment activity, for production innovations implemented, for business initiative and for scientific developed products of economic application. 

The awards are bestowed in three classes and companies, organizations, scientific teams, and the media, while physical persons are awarded for their contribution to the Bulgarian economy's development. 

The Major Award bears the name of 'Ikarus' and presents plastic arts made by the talented Bulgarian sculptor Slavi Minekov. The Major Award Winners enter the Book of Honor of BIA.

The official ceremony is held in the first half of December, and the awards are presented in the attendance of high representatives of the legislative and the executive authorities of Bulgaria. 

With every year the "IN-5" awards are becoming ever more a prestigious prize and are winning a growing popularity among the Bulgarian business society.
